Last Christmas, the DancingMind team brought the Christmas cheer to our residents! DancingMind provides virtual reality therapy to train residents’ cognitive and motor abilities.
This time, DancingMind engaged the residents in some good old-fashioned fun! Residents got moving and active by passing balls to each other. But they not only had to physically carry the balls – they also had to pick the right colour first. Even during Christmas, our residents got no break from their cognitive and memory training!
We loved to see their strong team spirit. They kept cheering and shouting reminders to “give high five” to one another. It was a wonderful time of friendship building. Truly, even in this digital age, we don’t need fancy equipment to have fun and keep the interaction going! All it takes is some creativity and a whole lot of “rah-rah-ing”!
After the excitement with the balls, the residents used DancingMind’s virtual reality therapy, MindGym. They participated enthusiastically in all the VR therapy activities, such as music therapy (they sang along!), boxing, and cognitive training. Some of our residents are regular users of MindGym and did the therapy on their own.
DancingMind gave a token of participation to all 12 residents followed by photo taking. We ended the Christmas activities with a sing-along and dance. One of the residents requested Twinkle Twinkle Little Stars, and everyone sang along with great gusto.
It won’t be long until it’s Christmas again! In the meantime, may our residents enjoy the best of health, happiness and fruitful relationships all year around.
