Seniors participate in controlled interactions with parrots as part of Avian-Assisted Therapy. This approach leverages the parrots’ intelligence, sociability, and bond-building abilities to enhance the physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being of elders.
After the session, our elderly participants were visibly delighted, their faces lighting up with smiles as they engaged in activities like feeding and conversing with the parrots. These therapeutic interactions provided companionship, joy, and emotional support, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness, depression, and anxiety. Engaging with the parrots also offered cognitive stimulation, improving memory, attention, and problem-solving skills. Overall, the experience uplifted our seniors, highlighting the holistic benefits of parrot therapy for their quality of life.
